Historical Note

January 2022, the Archives and Records Management department of Macomb Community College (MCC ARM) was granted the Innovation Award to document COVID-19 experiences of the college community. As part of this 2022/2023 Innovation Award, MCC ARM documented the experiences of students, faculty, staff, and alumni during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic to preserve for future generations. This project was heavily modeled after Oakland Community College and University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s pandemic documentation projects.

Legal Status

Donors have retained copyright to their material. Donors have granted to Macomb Community College Archives and Records Management (MCC ARM) a license to add the material to its archival collections in the MCC ARM and preserve it for future generations of students, scholars, and researchers. Donors gave MCC ARM permission to organize the materials according to accepted archival principles; to create metadata, finding aids, and full-text search interfaces required for the preservation and discovery of the materials; to make the materials accessible to researchers and staff; and to use the materials in exhibits and displays, both physical and online. Donors agreed that MCC ARM may make this material available online under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0), which will allow others to share and adapt the material, as long as the donors are given appropriate credit.
